Happy Earth Day

Who put this beauty here for us to see?
Every stone and flower, every wave and tree

I know you may not like the color green,
But why do you have to treat the earth so mean?

Don't you feel the trembling of the sea, the suffering of the land?
Because of all our silly and possessive demands

I know you may not like the color green,
But why do you have to treat the earth so mean?

I see fewer and fewer animals, while the ice just melts away,
I see the factories overpowering the good the people have to say.

I know you may not like the color green,
But why do you have to treat the earth so mean?

I see the mountains fading,
And the sky becomes less blue,
I see some of you waiting for the change,
When the change all starts with you.
